Congratulations Jacob Jones! He is the recipient of the Exchange Club of Tifton's A. C. E. Award. Please see what they had to say about Jacob on their Facebook post. #4theT #LetsGrowTogether #ExchangeClub "Everyone loves a good comeback story, right? The Exchange Club of Tifton really loves to honor a local student who has a good comeback story to tell. The winner of the 2025 Accepting The Challenge of Excellence (A.C.E.) Award definitely has that story. He faced the obstacles and chose to rise above them to success. Jacob Jones, this year’s A.C.E. recipient, was your average teenager. He was a good student and learning came naturally. He was an avid baseball player, meaning that’s all he had ever known. He transferred from a small private school to public school at the beginning of his high school career to play baseball. And that’s just what he was doing. Until the spring of his sophomore year in high school, when he began getting sick with no explanation as to why. After doing many tests, Jacob went in for another routine procedure, hoping to get some answers. And that’s when things really changed. Following the simple procedure, Jacob went into septic shock and respiratory failure, leading to his being placed on a ventilator for three days. The medical staff wasn’t sure he would come out of it. When he came off the vent, Jacob had multiple strokes, in all areas of his brain. Doctors really were not sure what was going on and what the causes were. Jacob spent almost three weeks in the hospital fighting for his life. After being discharged, the work was far from over. It was really just beginning. Jacob had to learn a new way of life. He was now suffering from short term memory loss, migraines, double vision, weakness in parts of his body, fainting and more. Things that came easy, no longer did. And there was no more baseball. He spent several months at home just figuring out how to do life again. Finally, into his junior year, Jacob and his family worked with the school guidance counselor to begin getting adjusted to school again. They started with half days and making sure the classes he took were manageable. He did some online classes, mixed with in person classes. They did everything they could to continue with as much normalcy as possible, while also managing any issues. Jacob enrolled in dual enrollment classes at ABAC, a goal he had set prior to his health journey. He has maintained his Honor Student status and will be graduating in May from Tift County High School as an Honor Graduate. Jacob worked hard to overcome the obstacles and push towards his goals. Because sitting at home was not an option. Jacob is also still a part of the baseball team, just not a player. But important nonetheless. After graduation, Jacob plans to continue his education at ABAC, possibly going into business. Jacob is the son of Brock and Brittany Jones and has a sister Addilyn."

🚀 Capture the Flag: Cyber & IoT Edition! 🏆 Today, Information Technology students from Ms. Day's and Dr. Busbin's classes gathered at Tift County High School for an exhilarating Capture the Flag cybersecurity competition—powered by Georgia Tech Research Institute! 💻 Using Terminal/Command Line skills and Python coding, students worked through real-world cybersecurity challenges to locate hidden files. But the real magic? Their success at TCHS triggered a light bulb on Georgia Tech’s campus—nearly 200 miles away! 💡🌍 🔐 This event showcased the power of the Internet of Things (IoT) and Cybersecurity, demonstrating how connected systems can interact across long distances—a concept at the heart of modern technology. 🏅 The first team to light the bulb won prizes, and all students explored scholarship opportunities in Information Technology and Computer Science. 🎉 Huge thanks to Georgia Tech Research Institute for providing laptops and an unforgettable hands-on experience! 🔗 #CTAEDelivers #TCHSCyber #iamcyber #CaptureTheFlag #FutureTechLeaders #4theT #CS4ALL #GATech #Cybersecurity #LetsGrowTogether

Students in Sports Medicine have been learning about the anatomy of the knee, as well as injuries that can occur, and how to diagnose and treat those injuries. As part of their assessment, they were asked to create a knee model using items they could find at home. They identified and labeled various structures on their models to have a better understanding of how the knee functions. Here are a few student examples!! #4theT #CTAEdelivers LetsGrowTogether
