Mrs. McClendon's kids have had the best time working on language skills while traveling the globe to experience Christmas around the world. So far, they've gone Belsnickeling in Canada, built nativities in Mexico, and made Yule Log cakes in France!

Parents and Family of our first and second grade students are invited to attend our Christmas Concert- Friday, December 9th at MWE Gym. Our First Grade will be performing at 9:00 am, and our Second Grade will be performing at 10:00 am.
Mrs. Ring’s class was transformed into an Emergency Room. The “doctors” got the sentences untangled. They solved punctuation problems and solved complete vs. incomplete sentences. Place value surgery and nonfiction text features surgery were completed by the doctors. They also wrote an Ouch story about a time they had to go to the doctors office.
Congratulations to Matt Wilson's November Leaders of the Month! These leaders have been chosen for consistently being COURTEOUS to others!
Parents/Guardians of our first and second grade students,
Your child will be bringing home a letter about our upcoming Christmas Concerts for their grade levels only. Please take time and read the letter.
Thank you so much for your time, support, and participation.
We are aware of multiple reports of active shooter events throughout the state this morning. At this point, there is no credible evidence that any events have actually occurred. As always, we will remain vigilant as the safety and security of our students and staff is of the utmost importance. #4theT
Out of an abundance of caution, Matt Wilson Elementary was placed on a soft lockdown this morning due to a potential situation that occurred in the neighborhood around the school. System security personnel worked with local law enforcement to determine that there was no threat to the safety and security of the students or staff. The school has resumed normal operations.

Happy Veterans Day! Thank you for your service and your sacrifice!
In honor of the holiday, some of our students got to eat with family members who have served our country.
Students in Mrs. Floyd’s class used nursery rhymes to find alliteration, rhyme, and rhythm. They then created props to act out the rhyme.
Cutest turkeys I ever did see came gobbling out of Mrs. Dean’s class! They enjoyed their feast with family and friends! ♥️
