The “Absence Note for Tift County Schools” form is used to document a student’s absence from school (it is the same as a hand written note). The school can accept up to three handwritten notes per nine weeks; however, a doctor’s note is always accepted and preferred. The attached form helps parents or guardians provide a written explanation for their child’s absence, ensuring it is properly recorded and, when appropriate, excused in accordance with district policy.

Fall Break 2025
All Pre-K students had the wonderful opportunity to enjoy a special read-aloud session with State Representative Jaclyn Ford. Her visit brought excitement and joy to our young learners as part of our Pre-K Week celebrations.

Pre-K Week is a time to celebrate early literacy and the foundational role it plays in a child's lifelong learning journey.

We extend a heartfelt thank-you to Representative Ford and to all of our community supporters who help make events like this so meaningful. Your involvement makes a lasting impact on the lives of our children. #4theT

PreK Week
📚✨ A huge thank you to State Representative Jaclyn Ford for kicking off our celebration of Georgia Pre-K Week!

She visited Matt Wilson Elementary and Len Lastinger Elementary, where she read to our Pre-K students and shared in the joy of early learning. Joining her for the visits were Pre-K Program Specialists BJ Sutton and Latricia Hall from the Georgia Department of Early Care and Learning.

A key strength of Georgia’s Pre-K program is helping children build strong foundational literacy skills. Families can support this at home too — simply by reading together every day!

We are grateful for leaders like Rep. Ford who value the importance of early learning and the bright futures of our youngest Blue Devils. #4theT #GaPreKWeek
