Mrs. Huffman's class finished a unit on the American Revolution. One standard they covered was to identify key figures of the American Revolution. They then created these figures with 2 liter bottles and lots of imagination, creativity, and design.

Mrs. Hobbs' 3rd grade group's Animal Adaptation Investigation Lab-Bird Beaks. Students had to use hand tools like chopsticks, tweezers, spoons, clothes pins, and a dropper to try to pick up various items in 30 second intervals such as Swedish Fish, pieces of yarn, beans, and rubber erasers. These tools were to simulate the different types of bird beaks (pointed beak, hooked beak, tubular bills, pouch-like beaks, and spear-like beaks), and the objects to be picked up were to simulate what many birds eat (seeds/berries, worms, fish, etc.). The students learned what adaptations (certain kinds of beaks) were best to get certain types of prey.
