After communicating with Georgia Power and Colquitt EMC regarding the status of the restoration of power and with EMS regarding the condition of roads, we feel it is in the best interest of our students and staff for all Tift County Schools to remain closed on Monday and Tuesday. After communicating with the National Weather Service and the local Emergency Management Agency we have determined that weather conditions predicted for our area are not suitable for the normal course of operation. As a result, all Tift County Schools will be closed Thursday, September 26th and Friday, September 27th. The safety of our students and staff is our top priority. Tifton Police Department has increased police presence around all Tift County Schools. During the month of August, Tifton Police Department issued 67 speeding citations in speed zones. School zone enforcement ensures the safety of our students, staff, and families as they enter and exit our campuses.
